Northgate
in Europe
Northgate
High School is renowned for its European dimension. Over
recent years it has received the prestigious European
Curriculum Award and has attracted European funding to
continue its environmental work with partner schools
in Zaragoza (Spain) and Gelsenkirchen (Germany). This
has benefited pupils in ICT, Mathematics and Sciences.
The school was awarded the 'Working Well Award'
by the European Member of Parliament, Clive Needle for
the innovation shown in developing its European Awareness
Programme.
We
maintain strong links with several European schools and
regularly attend and host joint ventures. Each year
Northgate staff attend an annual Teachers' Conference. A group of staff and pupils attend a biennial
European Arts Festival giving pupils the exciting opportunity
to work with pupils across Europe.
Northgate High Scool Concert Band performed in Germany in Autumn 2006.
We believe in Education in its widest sense and strive
continually to provide an interesting range of educational
visits and cultural experiences for our pupils. We have
a team of dedicated staff members who meet regularly to
discuss activities for the future. Plans are underway for visits to France, Germany, Spain and Holland.
